Devices controlled using Bluetooth wireless technology, such as the PlayStation 4 must be controlled using the hub. This includes when starting or stopping an Activity. The Harmony remote must be pointed directly at any devices assigned to be controlled by the remote. The Harmony remote must still remain within range of the hub, regardless of if all devices are configured to be controlled by the remote. The Harmony mobile app can only communicate with the hub, so devices assigned to be controlled by "Remote Only" cannot be controlled using the app.In other words, these devices can no longer be controlled by voice. Changing a device to be controlled directly from your remote will prevent it from working with any hub dependant Activities.

The remote assistant is a pain until you work out how to turn it off in the software. When using a voice control device such as Alexa or the Google Assistant with your Harmony setup, commands are sent through your hub. On the odd occasion, the remote can be fussy about accepting a charge from the charging dock. Nice feature where it lights up when it senses that you have picked it up, and turns off when not being handled to save battery.Ĭonfusing for visitors if a device gets out of sync with the remote. We use it to replace 4 different remotes with the one. Great colour screen where you can add custom pictures. Very well built, easy to program and to use. Read more rks very well, it's the only remote we use. However, for us it charges 99% of the time first go and wo. I've read other complaints about the remote being difficult to charge, this is probably this remotes main flaw. Not a fault with this device in particular, but with universal remotes in general.
HARMONY ONE DISABLE REMOTE ASSISTANT TV
The unfortunate side is that if a device gets out of sync with the remote (where it thinks a device is off instead of on, like our TV that automatically turns on if a DVD is put in), it can be confusing for family members to fix. Overall the unit is very good and does exactly what we want it to. The only down side is the button are a little small, otherwise I cannot fault the unit.

The Logitech Harmony 785, what a device, has saved me from having remote controls all around the room, very easy to setup with your home computer, the colour display has all the prompts you need to operate you home entaiment. A great purchase for around $100 if you shop around, a lot more features than most other universal remotes. The unit comes with its own charging dock that is quite attractive in black and suit most electronic equipment for l. The unit feels good in your hand and the best result is only having one remote to run all of your entertainment equipment. The online setup is so easy to use even for a person with little knowledge of computers you just have to have internet access. The Harmony 785 is well designed and easy to use once you have setup using your PC, the unit has a very good 'Help' button that guides you through any problems you might encounter. Goes flat too quickly, charging dock is no good. It looked nice and appeared to have all the bells and whistles I guess the fact that there have been so many different models of this remote to date really says it all. I did manage in the finish but I guess that was its last lease of life as I was not able to get the remote and charging pins to make that connection again no matter what i did. Read more had a lot of trouble getting it to charge on its base. I recently dug this remote out of storage when my pay tv remote stopped working and once again. I persevered with using this remote for a short while but soon reverted to using 3 - 4 remotes again. It was very difficult to get the pins to line up and to get the remote to start charging. I managed to set it up reasonably well but was horrified at how quickly the battery would need to be recharged. I loved the concept of a universal remote and the Logitech Harmony appeared to have all the bells and whistles.
